28th February:

North Uist: 2 adult Glaucous Gulls were at Rubh' Arnal this afternoon. 2 juvenile Iceland Gulls, a 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull and 3 juvenile and an adult Glaucous Gull were on the beach by Aird an Runair. The female Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Scaraidh. The 2 drake Scaup are still on Loch Sandary.

South Uist: The drake American Wigeon is on Loch Bornish again today. 2 Lapland Buntings and a 2nd winter Glaucous Gull were on Bornish machair. The 2 Snow Geese were at Boisdale (near the cemetary).

27th February:

South Uist: An adult and juvenile Glaucous Gull were hanging around a dead dolphin washed up along the Howmore River. A juvenile Glaucous Gull flew south off Stoneybridge. 3 juvenile Glaucous Gulls and 30 Snow Buntings were at Ardivachar. 5 Tundra Bean Geese were at Balgarva. 2 Greater Snow Geese were at Garrynamonie.

26th February:

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe was on Loch nam Feithean today along with 5 Pintail (3 males) and 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese. The female Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Scaraidh. 4 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and 3 juveniles) and a juvenile Iceland Gull were on the beach at Aird an Runair. 2 drake Scaup are still on Loch Sandary.

Benbecula: 2 drake Scaup were on Loch Fada.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Peninerine.

Other: The first frog spawn was noted in Leurbost today.

25th February:

North Uist: 3 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults and a juvenile), 7 Snow Buntings and 2 pale-bellied Brent Geese were between Kyles Paible and Rubh' Arnal today.

24th February:

North Uist: The Tundra Bean Goose is still at Aird an Runair this morning with Greylags. An adult Iceland Gull, adult Glaucous Gull and pale-bellied Brent Goose were between Kyles Paible and Rubh' Arnal. The female Ring-necked Duck is on Loch Scaraidh.

23rd February:

Lewis: 4 juvenile Iceland Gulls and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were in Stornoway harbour over the weekend. 4 Brambling, 6 Siskin, 5 Goldfinch and 2 Great Tits were in Willowglen, Stornoway.

North Uist: A Tundra Bean Goose was with Greylags at Aird an Runair. 23 Snow Buntings were also in the area as well as 7 juvenile Glaucous Gulls and a juvenile Iceland Gull. The 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull and 12 Goldfinch were at Hougharry.

South Uist: The 2 Greater Snow Geese are still in the Garrynamonie area.

22nd February:

Benbecula: A drake Scaup is on Loch Fada and another is on Coot Loch.

21st February:

Benbecula: 5 or 6 Goldfinch were at Linciclate.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull, adult Iceland Gull and near adult Lesser Black-backed Gull were at Ardivachar whilst 15 - 20 Snow Buntings were nearby on the machair.

20th February:

Lewis: A male Hen Harrier was seen at Achmore this morning.

North Uist: At least 12 Goldfinch were at Carinish.

19th February:

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe was on Loch Scaraidh again today. The 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull is at Hougharry. 3 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and 2 juveniles / 1st winters) and a juvenile / 1st winter Iceland Gull were on the beach at Aird an Runair. 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese were by Loch nam Feithean. 2 drake Scaup are on Loch Sandary. 2 pale-bellied Brent Geese, an adult Iceland Gull and a juvenile / 1st winter Glaucous Gull were between Kyles Paible and Rubh' Arnal.

South Uist: A Mistle Thrush was reported from Loch Eynort. 2 Lapland Buntings and 40+ Snow Buntings were on Bornish machair.

18th February:

North Uist: The female Ring-necked Duck is still on Loch Scaraidh. A 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull is just north of Hougharry. 4 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults and 2 juvenile / 1st winters) are on the beach near Aird an Runair.

Benbecula: 2 drake Scaup are on Coot Loch.

South Uist: An immature Velvet Scoter was off Balgarva / Rubha Thornais this morning. A juvenile / 1st winter Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar.

17th February:

Lewis: A 2nd cal year Iceland Gull and 2nd cal year Glaucous Gull were in Stornoway harbour (inner) this afternoon.

16th February:

Lewis: An adult and 2nd cal year Iceland Gull were in Stornoway today and yesterday and 5 Pied Wagtails were at Sand Street. A Jack Snipe was at Arnish.

South Uist: 101 Greenland White-fronted Geese were by Loch Bee. An adult Glaucous Gull was at Peninerine.

15th February:

South Uist: 2 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and a juvenile) were at Ardvule and 47 Snow Buntings were on Bornish machair.

14th February:

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe and female Ring-necked Duck are on Loch Scaraidh. A 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull was at Hougharry. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Loch Paible.

South Uist: 6 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults and 4 immatures) were at Ardvule today.

12th February:

Lewis: A juvenile / 1st winter Iceland Gull was n Lower Barvas this morning

North Uist: A Tundra Bean Goose was seen on Baleshare today.

11th February:

South Uist: 4 Glaucous Gulls (an adult, 2nd winter and 2 juveniles) were at Ardvule today.

10th February:

North Uist: An adult Glaucous Gull, adult Iceland Gull and a pale-bellied Brent Goose were at Rubh' Arnal today. The 2 drake Scaup are still on Loch Sandary. The Pied-billed Grebe was on Loch Scaraidh along with the female Ring-necked Duck. The Glossy Ibis was by Balranald visitor centre. 4 Glaucous Gulls (an adult, 2nd winter and 2 juveniles) were on the beach at Aird an Runair.

Benbecula: The drake Scaup was on Coot Loch.

South Uist: 29 Snow Buntings were on Bornish machair. 3 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and 2 juveniles) were in the south bay at Ardvule. A drake Goosander was on Loch an Mhuilinn, Stoneybridge. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Ardivachar.

9th February:

Lewis: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was on the Braighe today.

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe, 3 Gadwall and 3 Pintail are on Loch nam Feithean. 17 Snow Buntings were at Aird an Runair with 3 Glaucous Gulls (2 juveniles and an adult) and a juvenile Iceland Gull on the beach there. The female Ring-necked Duck is still on Loch Scaraidh.

Benbecula: A drake Green-winged Teal was at Loch Mor and the drake Scaup is still on Coot Loch.

South Uist: 4 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults and 2 juveniles) were at the south bay Ardvule. 57 Snow Buntings and 2 Lapland Buntings were on Bornish machair. A drake American Wigeon was on Loch Bornish. The 1st winter female Surf Scoter was off Howmore River mouth with 4 Glaucous Gulls (adult and 3 juveniles) and a juvenile Iceland Gull in the area. An adult Little Gull was also seen briefly off Howmore. The female Lesser Scaup was seen at Ardkenneth at the north-west end of Loch Bee. An adult Iceland Gull was at West Gerinish.

8th February:

Benbecula: The drake Scaup is still on Coot Loch with 17 Shoveler. 40 pale-bellied Brent Geese were on the North Ford (close to causeway) between Benbecula and Grimsay this morning.

South Uist: 2 juvenile Glaucous Gulls were at Ardivachar.

7th February:

Lewis: A White-billed Diver was seen to the north of Tiumpan Head today. A 1st yr Iceland Gull was on the beach to the north of Loch Branahuie with a 1st yr Glaucous Gull on the loch. 3 Glaucous Gulls (2 juveniles and an adult) were at the Braighe. A 1st winter Iceland Gull was in Stornoway harbour.

North Uist: The Glossy Ibis was opposite the Balranald visitor centre today.

Benbecula: A drake Scaup is on Coot Loch.

6th February:

Lewis: An adult and 2nd yr Glaucous Gull were at the Braighe. A 1st yr Glaucous Gull and 1st yr Iceland Gull were at Loch Branahuie.

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe is still on Loch nam Feithean; also there a Glossy Ibis, 4 Pintail and a pair of Gadwall. 3 Glaucous Gulls (2 juveniles and an adult) were on the beach at Aird an Runair and a Snow Bunting was also there. The female Ring-necked Duck is on Loch Scaraidh and the 2 Scaup are on Loch Sandary. 2 Goldfinch were at Carinish.

South Uist: 55 Kittiwakes flew south at Ardvule this morning. 7 Goldfinch were on Bornish machair and 2 were at Boisdale. The 2 Snow Geese were seen in the Garrynamonie area and later on Loch an Eilean.

5th February:

Lewis: A juvenile Glaucous Gull and adult Iceland Gull were at the Braighe today. A Glaucous Gull and 17 Snow Buntings were at Loch Ordais, Bragar today. 7 Snow Buntings were also seen by the main road 2 miles south of Luirbost.

North Uist: A Jack Snipe at Claddach Baleshare this morning flew off towards Carinish. 5 Glaucous Gulls (3 juveniles, a 2nd winter and an adult) and 2 juvenile Iceland Gulls were at Aird an Runair. A Glossy Ibis was at Loch nam Feithean and a pair of Pintail were also present. The 2 Scaup are still on Loch Sandary and an immature Glaucous Gull was seen over the road nearby.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Ardvule this morning and 35 Snow Buntings were on Bornish machair. The Surf Scoter is still off Peninerine.

4th February:

North Uist: The female Ring-necked Duck was reported from Loch Scaraidh this morning. 3 Glaucous Gulls were on the beach at Aird an Runair. The Glossy Ibis was at Hougharry and an Iceland Gull was nearby.

Benbecula: An adult Little Gull was feeding off Balivanich.

South Uist: 22 Greenland White-fronted Geese are at Askernish and 2 Brent Geese flew past.

3rd February:

Lewis: 90 Barnacle Geese were near Loch Stiapabhat.

South Uist: 2 Glaucous Gulls were at Ardivachar and 50 Snow Buntings were on the beach at Peninerine.

2nd February:

North Uist: 6 Glaucous Gulls (2 adults, 3 juvenile / 1st winter and a 2nd winter) and a juvenile / 1st winter Iceland Gull were at Aird an Runair this morning. A Glossy Ibis was on Loch Grogarry. 2 Scaup are still on Loch Sandary.

South Uist: A seawatch from Rubha Ardvule (08:45 - 11:40) produced 5 Glaucous Gulls (an adult south and 4 juveniles, north), 29 Kittiwakes, 36 Gannets, 13 Razorbills, 12 Guillemots, a Black Guillemot and 9 Fulmars heading south. 3 Glaucous Gulls (an adult and 2 juveniles) and a 2nd winter Iceland Gull were at Ardivachar. 22 Goldfinch and a Water Rail are at Bornish.

1st February:

North Uist: The Pied-billed Grebe is still on Loch nam Feithean along with a Glossy Ibis, 4 Pintail (2 pairs), a pair of Gadwall, 7 Shoveler and 2 Greenland White-fronted Geese. A female Ring-necked Duck and 2 drake Scaup are on Loch Sandary. 8 Glaucous Gulls (3 adults and 5 juveniles) and a juvenile Iceland Gull are on the beach at Aird an Runair. An adult Iceland Gull and 50 Snow Buntings were also reported from Balranald. An adult Glaucous Gull and 4 pale-bellied Brent Geese are at Rubh' Arnal.

Benbecula: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Borve Point.

South Uist: 7 Glaucous Gulls and a juvenile Kumlien's Gull were at Kildonan this morning. A Guillemot was found in a garden near the top of the South Glendale valley this morning. The Surf Scoter was off the mouth of the Howmore River with around 100 Long-tailed Ducks today and the 3 Tundra Bean Geese were at Stoneybridge.
