31st March:

North Uist: A 1st winter Iceland Gull was just north of Grimsay this afternoon.

Benbecula: An immature Glaucous Gull was on the South Ford, behind Creagorry Co-op.

South Uist: A 2nd winter Iceland Gull was at Kilbride.

30th March:

North Uist: The 1st yr Ring-billed Gull was opposite Balranald visitor centre this morning.

South Uist: 105 Whooper Swans were on Loch Bornish today.

29th March:

North Uist: The American Coot, 3 Pintail (2 males and a female) and 20 Whooper Swans were on Loch nam Feithean. A Jack Snipe was seen near Ahmore. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was on Traigh Iar. The drake Green-winged Teal and 2 Goldfinch were at Loch Sandary.

28th March:

North Uist: The drake Green-winged Teal was on Loch Sandary. The female Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Scarie and the American Coot remains on Loch nam Feithean.

South Uist: A 1st and a 2nd winter Glaucous Gull were at Ardivachar this morning. 61 Whooper Swans were on Loch Hallan, 62 were on Loch Dun na Cille and 39 were on Loch Bornish.

27th March:

Lewis: 2 House Martins were seen in Garrabost today.

North Uist: The American Coot was on Loch nam Feithean. The 1st yr Ring-billed Gull was near Balranald visitor centre again today. 26 Whooper Swans came in off the sea at Aird an Runair this morning before continuing north. The female Ring-necked Duck and 27 Greenland White-fronted Geese were at Loch Scarie. A juvenile Glaucous Gull was at Kyles Paible.

26th March:

South Uist: A Wheatear was near South Glendale today. An juvenile and 2nd winter Iceland Gull flew west past Kilbirde this morning later at Smerclate). 3 Common Scoters flew north past Ardvule this morning.

25th March:

Lewis: A 2nd winter Iceland Gull was on Loch Tiumpan today. 13 Iceland Gulls (12 juveniles and a 2nd winter) and 3 juvenile Glaucous Gulls were in Stornoway Harbour.

North Uist: A Jack Snipe was along the shore at Carinish this morning. The drake Pintail is still on Baleshare and 10 Whooper Swans flew north over there this afternoon. The 1st yr Ring-billed Gull was near Balranald visitor centre and the American Coot is still on Loch nam Feithean. The female Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Scarie.

South Uist: 2nd winter Iceland Gulls were at Smerclate and Kilpheder.

24th March;

North Uist: A drake Pintail was on Baleshare.

Benbecula: A drake Scaup is on Coot Loch.

South Uist: A 2nd winter Iceland Gull was at Smerclate.

23rd March:

South Uist: 126 Kittiwakes, a Common Scoter and 27 Greylags flew north at Ardvule this morning while 2 Manx Shearwaters flew south. 2 juvenile Iceland Gulls were at Stoneybridge. 4 Iceland Gulls(3 juveniles/1, 2nd winter), a 3rd winter Glaucous Gull and a hybrid Glaucous Gull were at Howmore. 116 Whooper Swans were on the loch at Smerclate.

22nd March:

Lewis: 21 Iceland Gulls and 3 Glaucous Gulls were along the coast between Port of Ness and the Butt.

South Uist: A juvenile and 2nd winter Iceland Gull were off the Pollochar today.

North Uist: A drake Pintail is still on Baleshare. The drake Green-winged Teal was on Loch Sandary today.

South Uist: A Goldfinch was at Kildonan.

North Uist: A female Brambling was on the south side of Grimsay this morning.

South Uist: 2 Common Scoters, 7 Long-tailed Ducks and 112 Kittiwakes flew north at Ardvule this morning.

19th March:

Insects: 9 Hebrew Characters anda Clouded Drab were trapped at North Loch Eynort last night.

18th March:

Lewis: The 5 Jackdaws were by Loch Stiapabhat whilst 2 Iceland Gulls and 2 Glaucous Gulls were near the Butt. 9 Iceland Gulls (8 juveniles and a 2nd winter) and 2 juvenile Glaucous Gulls were in Stornoway Harbour.

North Uist: A Chiffchaff was on the south side of Grimsay today. A Stock Dove was seen in Carinish this evening before flying off east. A 1st yr Iceland Gull was at Clettreval.

South Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull was at Smerclate. A Woodcock was in South Glendale.

Barra: 2 Iceland Gulls were seen at Borve this morning.

17th March:

Lewis: 8 Iceland Gulls and 4 Glaucous Gulls were between Port of Ness and the Butt whilst 10 Snow Buntings were by the lighthouse. 5 Jackdaws were by Loch Stiapabhat.

South Uist: A Mistle Thrush was in South Glendale. A juvenile Iceland Gull and 2nd winter Glaucous Gull were at Peninerine.

15th March:

South Uist: A 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull and 3 juvenile Iceland Gulls were at Smerclate today. 2 juvenile Iceland Gulls were at Peninerine. A juvenile Iceland Gull at Ardvule. 2 juvenile Iceland Gulls flew south at Dlaiburgh. A Wheatear was seen near the ferry terminal on Eriskay.

Lewis: 20 Iceland Gulls and 2 Glaucous Gulls were at the Butt today along with 8 Snow Buntings.

North Uist: A White-billed Diver was reported off Balranald today.

South Uist: A 3rd winter Kumlien's Gull was at Smerclate today.

13th March:

Lewis: 23 Iceland Gulls (21 juveniles, a 2nd winter and an adult) and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were in Stornoway Harbour. 18 Iceland Gulls and a juvenile Glaucous Gulls were between Port of Ness and the Butt. 4 Snow Buntings were at the Butt.

North Uist: The American Coot was on Loch nam Feithean. The drake Green-winged Teal was on Loch Sandary. A 2nd yr Iceland Gull was at Clettreval today.

South Uist: Seawatching at Ardvule this morning produced a White-billed Diver, 2 Common Scoter, 119 Razorbills and 115 Kittiwakes heading south. A 2nd winter Iceland Gull and Goldcrest were in South Glendale.

12th March:

Lewis: 5 juvenile Iceland Gulls and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were at the Butt today.

11th March:

Lewis: 10 Iceland Gulls (9 juveniles and an adult) and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were at the Butt today. 32 Whooper Swans were around Loch Stiapabhat today.

North Uist: A Grey Wagtail flew over Cnocquien road end this evening.

South Uist: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was in the bay at South Glendale.

10th March:

Lewis: 20 Iceland Gulls (5 juveniles and 15 juveniles) were near the Butt along with 3 juvenile Glaucous Gulls today. 10 Whooper Swans dropped in just south of the Butt early afternoon. An adult Iceland Gull and 2nd winter Glaucous Gull were at Loch Barvas today.

North Uist: 40 Whooper Swans flew north at Carinish around 15:30.

South Uist: 169 Kittiwakes and 57 Razorbills flew south at Ardvule and an adult Iceland Gull flew north. 8 Iceland Gulls (ad, two 2nd winter and 5 juvs.) plus 3 Glaucous Gulls (ad, 3rd winter and juv.) were at Peninerine today.

Harris: An adult Iceland Gull was by the junction for Huisinish today.

8th March:

Lewis: At least 72 Iceland Gulls were between Port of Ness and the Butt this morning.

North Uist: The American Coot is still on Loch nam Feithean and the female Ring-necked Duck was on Loch Sandary.

Benbecula: A juvenile Glaucous Gull was behind the co-op at Creagorry.

South Uist: A 2nd winter Iceland Gull flew south past Ardvule this morning. 4 Glaucous Gulls (2 x 3rd winters, a 2nd winter and juvenile) and 8 Iceland Gulls (6 juveniles, a 2nd winter and an adult) were at Peninerine.

7th March:

Lewis: 22 Iceland Gulls (2 adults and 20 juveniles) were between Port of Ness and the Butt today.

Benbecula: The drake Scaup is still on Coot Loch.

5th March:

Lewis: 12 Iceland Gulls (an adult and 11 juveniles) and 2 juvenile Glaucous Gulls were at the Butt.

North Uist: A juvenile Iceland Gull was on The Udal today.

South Uist: 7 Iceland Gulls (an adult, 2nd winter and 5 juveniles) were at Peninerine. A juvenile Iceland Gull and juvenile Glaucous Gull were at kilbride.

4th March:

Lewis: 6 Iceland Gulls (an adult and 5 juveniles) and a 2nd winter Glaucous Gull were between Port of Ness and the Butt. 6 Iceland Gulls (2 adults, 2nd winter and 3 juveniles) were in Stornoway Harbour.

North Uist: 2 drake Pintail and a juvenile Greenland White-fronted Goose were at Loch na Paisg, Baleshare.

3rd March:

Lewis: A Common Redpoll was in Port of Ness and 18 Snow Buntings were a mile north of there. 16 Iceland Gulls (3 adults, 2 x 2nd winters and 11 juveniles) and 3 Glaucous Gulls ( a 2nd winter and 2 juveniles) were near the Butt.

North Uist: The 1st winter Ring-billed Gull was Tigharry. 2 drake Pintail were on Baleshare.

Benbecula: A 2nd winter Iceland Gull was at Borve Point (also a dead immature birds present).

South Uist: 7 Iceland Gulls (5 juveniles, a 2nd winter and an adult) and a juvenile Glaucous Gull were at Peninerine. A juvenile Iceland Gull and 2 Glaucous Gulls (juvenile and 2nd winter) were at Ardivachar.

South Uist: 6 Brent Geese were in Loch Carnan today, opposite the fish hatchery.

1st March:

Lewis: 4 Glaucous Gulls and 6 Iceland Gulls between Loch Stiapabhat and the Butt today.

North Uist: The 1st winter Ring-billed Gull was by Loch na Reivil this morning. The American Coot was on Loch nam Feithean. 2 juveniles and an adult Iceland Gull were at Balranald today. The drake Green-winged Teal and a Pintail were on Loch Sandary. At least 1 drake Pintail and a juvenile Iceland Gull were on Baleshare.
